Man left on Disney 'Small World' ride sues

A DISABLED man has been awarded $US8000 ($A7,663.94) by Disneyland after the It's A Small World ride broke, stranding him for three hours while the theme song played continuously.

Lawyer David Geffen says Jose Martinez was the only passenger not evacuated when the ride broke down in 2009, and staffers failed to call the fire department to free him.

The ride's familiar song couldn't be turned off the entire three hours Martinez was stuck.

Geffen says Martinez uses a wheelchair, suffers from panic attacks and high blood pressure, and needed to urinate for much of the time he was stranded.

Geffen says half the award ordered on Friday is for pain and suffering, and the other half for disability law violations.

Disney did not immediately reply to messages seeking comment.

The best McDonalds in the world is...

LOVE a burger and fries? This Macca's has been voted the best in the world. It's not your typical building that's for sure.

Taupo New Zealand took out top spot in the The Daily Meal's list of the world's top ten coolest McDonald's this week.

"Taupo, New Zealand, has the honour of being home to the only McDonald's location that includes a decommissioned DC3 plane as part of the store," The Daily Meal writes. "There are seats inside the plane for your dining enjoyment, and you can view the cockpit as well! Maybe they hand out wings to first-time customers."

Australia managed to get one McDonald's on the list. Sydney came in at number seven for the Macca's in The Strand on George Street.

"The Strand location on George Street looks more like a study in modern architecture than a fast-food joint," The Daily Meal writes. "Design firm Juicy integrated printed graphic wall art, bold pops of orange, pink, white, and black, and cool lounge-like furniture. The glass and steel exterior is beautiful, reflecting the interior light. So the clear agenda for our next trip to Australia will be surf, see sharks, sunbathe, and visit McDonald's!"
