Daylight savings ends on Sunday

PEOPLE in NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT will get either an extra hour of sleep or partying this weekend as clocks are adjusted for the end of daylight saving.

At 3am (AEDT) on Sunday clocks across the southeastern states will be rolled back to 2am.

This will put Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart on the same time as Brisbane, two hours ahead of Perth and half an hour ahead of Adelaide and Darwin.

States coming off daylight saving will be one hour ahead of Tokyo, two hours ahead of Beijing and Jakarta, eight hours ahead of western Europe and nine hours ahead of London.

The American east coast will be 14 hours behind and the west coast 17 hours behind.
